A new school year starts at IHS Music Academy. Hibiki Sato always dreamed of enrolling in the school’s Idol Course where young musicians, supervised by former idols, train to be rock stars. Lyrics teacher Tokiya Saiyu gives the students a new project and dares Hibiki’s fledgling band, Athens, to audition for the infamous Newsfeed Deux Music Showcase, a career marker. Hibiki gets the writer’s black nervous about the upcoming performance. Unable to write lyrics, he can only hum his new song which Takira Mizutani, Athens’ drummer pens a hip arrangement Tokiya thinks can win them the showcase.
