About The Author

Stone Spicer spent his early years living in a host of cities across Canada, the United States, and Australia. In 1960, a teenager on his own, he migrated to Hawaii, fell in love with the Islands and its people, and adopted it as a home for the next forty-five plus years. He married a Hawaiian-Japanese girl he met at the University of Hawaii and, with a degree in business, enjoyed a successful thirty-year career in the printing industry in Honolulu while he and his wife raised their two sons. He moved on to earn his license as a massage therapist in Hilo, Hawaii, and then to engage in fine art sales in the Pacific Northwest. During this time, he was developing a love for writing.

Stone enjoys breathing life into his characters and situations. His writing reflects a determination to resurrect the treasured places of old Hawaii that he knew and loved, places that succumbed to the ravages of time, to the rewriting of landscapes as a result of Madam PeleÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s eruptions and to the onslaught of the developerÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s bulldozers. These treasured places out of the past are woven into the fibers of his stories.
