This is a high school yearbook entry to my best friend. “Soul prints in the sand, seasons forever lost, soul mates coming homeâ€â€love songs.†This is a note from the author to his best friend: Dear Deb, Most things I have to say to you don’t look good written, and my feelings aren’t transcribed too well through a pen. But thanks for the year, or most of it anyway. It couldn’t have been better. The things I have gained and how I have grown wouldn’t be the same, I’m sure. Whatever you do, remember that I will support you. Whatever will always have for you. If I ever come home this summer, I will you give you a call. Okay? Karl

About The Author
Karl Hicken was raised in Salt Lake City from high school and well into college. He has been married for almost three decades and is blessed with four wonderful children. He believes that, with a few exceptions, each of the states in the US—both the events and the people—has contributed to the maturing of the man and the poet.
Currently, Karl lives in Heber City, Utah, with his wife, Shirley, and their youngest daughter.
