This book is a sequel to The Adventures of Callie: Callie Finds a Home. Here, a new friend, Simba, is introduced to Callie. He is an apricot miniature poodle who becomes Callie’s best friend. When Simba is gone due to an accident, Callie grieves for him and teaches the family that pets have feelings too. Then a new cat, Smokey, joins the family. He has a happy personality, and nothing seems to bother him. He teaches the family to live life to the fullest. Although Callie does not like him at first, he makes her laugh at his crazy antics until they become close. She never forgets Simba, but Smokey leads Callie to new adventures, leaving marks on the entire family.
