The Insect Book is solely written to help younger children learn about insects and how to care and feed them, keeping them as a pet. Through all the years giving lectures, children and parents were under the assumption all insects eat grass which was placed in a jar when they found an insect. This not being true, their insect would expired the next day.
I wrote this book as a guide to assist parents and children how to start collecting and caring for insects as a pet. The Insect Book explains supplies needed to start which includes illustrated pictures throughout the book so if they are not at a reading level they can understand looking at the pictures.
The Insect Book contains several common insects, where to find them and what they eat. The butterfly and moth section has illustrated pictures with color coded markings for the children to color to help identify a caterpillar when they start their insect venture.

About The Author
Connie Zakowski has taken you another step further into the world of collecting insects. Just as her first book, The Insect Book, taught you how to collect and care for insects, Insects on Display has illustrated how to preserve your specimens.
The summer months have provided her with the opportunity to raise several insect species.
Unfortunately, as the colder weather arises, most insects die or go into a dormant stage depending on their specie. Connie then mounts the insects after their passing and exhibits them in cases.
The study of entomology is an interesting and educational avocation for Connie. Her next endeavor is photographing the different stages of insect life.
