About The Book

Chapters 1 through 12, and chapters 14 through 16 of the book describe the human condition and human life in Earth’s environment. This is followed by a short story describing a character called John Stewart. His is the son of a well-off family in Chicago, Illinois. His parents, Norm and Gladys, own the Stewart Importing Company, which was started by John’s great grandfather, James. The company’s imports products from all over the world but mainly from China. When John is given the responsibility to take charge of their Chinese imports, he initially spends many months in the country. He gets to know different contacts there, including a set of twins. He helps the twins with their schooling and shows them the popular travel attractions of China, USA, and Canada. The story basically records John and the twins’ experiences.

Alex Duthie, P.Eng., has worked for fifty years as a mechanical engineer in the automotive, aircraft, nuclear, valve, and entertainment industries. His passion has consistently been the examination of how things and nature work. He and his wife of fifty-four years had four children. He has remarried and now lives in Kincardine, Ontario, Canada.
