About The Author

Idrissa Sanyang was educated at Kiang Karataba Primary School. After which, he went to secondary school in the district headquarters at Mansa-konko for four years. After having completed his four exams, he continued to St. Peter’s technical high school in Kombo Lamin. In 1982, he was sponsored at AACD College of Technology in Brazil. It was sponsored by the World Rehabilitation Fund under the New York University Medical Center. In 1984, he was sponsored to study rehabilitation and leprosy control at a world health training center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 1990, he studied orthopedic technology with the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. In 2001, he moved to the UK where he worked in various disciplines over the years—notably with the NHS and later with some health-care agencies—having been attached to the national probation services for long periods of time. He did some part-time work for some private hospitals in mental health as a support worker. Mr. Sanyang is now living in Walsall, in the midlands near Birmingham.
