The Scar of Cain

The Scar of Cain

The Books of Jasher (Book 1)

by Bill W. Sanford

About The Book

Most would agree that there is far too much of our ancient history steeped in religion and myth to make it possible for any serious, objective examination of the life and struggles of our antediluvian ancestors. Is this by accident or design? And, if by design, to what purpose? Within the limited boundaries of historical fiction, this book, as well as those sequels that follow, attempts to address those questions. I have tried, whenever possible, to write where history, religion and myth have meshed to provide a fresh and hopefully accurate perspective of historical characters and events. Since the backdrop of this book deals with ancient historical characters, I felt it fitting that an historian should be the focus character of my story. In this case, an ancient historian by the name of Jasher was selected to record the often overlooked details of the historical narrative down through the ages. It is through his eyes and hand that we see a clearer mosaic of where our social history was and still is. If history repeats itself then why, in what way and who might be responsible. As historical characters are reintroduced with a deeper understanding of their roles in the unfolding of the human drama, these points are addressed and perhaps answered. The Scar of Cain represents a work of historical fiction designed to satisfy and entertain those who are curious about our ancient ancestors and clarify their historical roles.
